I have been working on letter recognition and letter sounds with my three year olds. I wanted to come up with a fun way for them to practice initial letter sounds. I created these alphabet sound picture tree slices. I made 26 tree slice disc, one for every letter, each letter has a matching food that starts with the same initial letter sound.
We have been using the slices with the Montessori I spy game. We have also used them in additional to our alphabet picture and sound cards. The purpose fo these cards is “to familiarize the child with the alphabet sounds as used in words, and to enlarge their vocabulary” (Teaching Montessori In The Home)
